Bay Side Home is looking for a dedicated, organized, and team-oriented Dietary Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our Dietary Department.

The Dietary Supervisor plays an important role in ensuring Residents receive nutritious, enjoyable meals while maintaining high standards of food quality, safety, and service. Working closely with the Director of Support Services, Dietitian, and care team, the successful candidate will help create a positive dining experience for our Residents.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily kitchen operations, meal preparation, and meal service.

Supervise, schedule, and provide direction and support to Dietary staff.

Ensure meals are prepared according to approved menus and individual Resident dietary requirements.

Monitor food quality, portion sizes, presentation, and serving temperatures.

Manage food and supply ordering, inventory, and deliveries.

Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleaning standards.

Respond to Resident feedback and promote choice, dignity, and enjoyment during mealtimes.

Monitor kitchen equipment and participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Grade 12 or equivalent.

Previous food service experience; institutional, healthcare, or long-term care experience is preferred.

Previous supervisory experience is an asset.

Food Service, Culinary, or Hospitality education is an asset.

Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.

Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.

A genuine commitment to Resident-centred care.

Position Details

Reports To: Director of Support Services

Schedule: Based on operational requirements. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
