Horizon Health Network in beautiful New Brunswick is looking for a Director of Pharmacy Professional Practice to join our team!
Horizon Health Network (Horizon) is seeking a strategic, influential and systems-oriented leader to join our team as a Director of Pharmacy Professional Practice and who should be able to identify organizational priorities and advance innovative, sustainable change through collaboration and thoughtful execution. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, implementing, and evaluating clinical pharmacy services that improve patient outcomes, optimize medication use and support quality and safety goals, and in leading the personnel who deliver these services.

Who you are
You have a worked in a senior pharmacy leadership role for a minimum of five (5) years. You have experience in managing clinical pharmacy services and personnel including project management and program planning. You have an intermediate proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications.
You possess an entry-to-practice degree in Pharmacy, (e.g., Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy) and are licensed to practice in New Brunswick or eligible for licensure with the New Brunswick College of Pharmacists. Consideration will be given to those with advanced pharmacy education.
You are willing and able to travel throughout the province and possess a valid New Brunswick Driver's License.
You can write and speak English at an advanced level of competency.
What you will do
The Director, Pharmacy Professional Practice will be joining our team at a very exciting time in our organization with a multi-year initiative to redesign our pharmacy practice model in the acute care, ambulatory care and primary care settings. Another initiative is also in progress to renovate and modernize our main pharmacies and compounding areas including our outpatient oncology clinic pharmacies. Horizon is also a key partner in provincial initiatives to develop and implement a new integrated clinical information system across our organization.
The Director, Pharmacy Professional Practice is responsible to:
- Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of a region-wide approach to evidence-informed, patient focused pharmacy care which aligns with a collaborative care model, scope of pharmacy practice and pharmacy practice standards
- Lead and/or support pharmacy research and education initiatives
- Lead and participate in recruitment and retention activities for pharmacy professionals and learners
- Plan and establish program priorities, evaluate services and outcomes, including optimal utilization of human resources to provide safe, efficient and high-quality pharmacy services
- Communicate and collaborate within the regional department and at times involving leaders and decision-makers in other programs and departments
- Coach, mentor and provide advice related to the conduct and delivery of clinical pharmacy services
