The Department of Health is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to serve as Executive Director, Office of Digital Health.

Reporting directly to the Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services, the Executive Director will provide leadership and oversight for the province's digital health strategy, health information management, innovation agenda, and major technology-enabled transformation initiatives across New Brunswick's health system. The Executive Director will work closely with the Department of Health, Regional Health Authorities, health system partners, clinicians, alongside additional key internal and external stakeholders to advance a modern, integrated, and patient-centred digital health ecosystem.

As Executive Director, you will:

  • Lead the execution of New Brunswick's digital health strategy and transformation roadmap;
  • Provide executive oversight of major digital health initiatives, investments, and modernization efforts;
  • Advise senior government and health system leaders on strategic opportunities, risks, and emerging trends related to digital health, data, innovation, artificial intelligence, and technology;
  • Establish governance frameworks that support effective decision-making, prioritization, accountability, and risk management;
  • Foster strong partnerships with Regional Health Authorities, government partners, clinicians, researchers, academia, and industry;
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams responsible for digital health strategy, innovation, health information, and transformation initiatives;
  • Represent the Department and Province at provincial, national, and intergovernmental tables focused on healthcare innovation and digital health advancement;
  • Champion innovation, data-informed decision making, interoperability, privacy, security, and patient-centered service design.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A university degree in health administration, business administration, public administration, information technology, engineering, or a related field;
  • A minimum of eight (8) years of progressively responsible leadership experience, including senior management experience;
  • Experience leading complex portfolios, multidisciplinary teams, and strategic initiatives in areas such as digital health, healthcare operations, innovation, information management, technology, policy, or service delivery;
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans, business cases, policy recommendations, or organizational strategies;
  • Experience leading teams and working within complex, multi-stakeholder environments;
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered;
  • Written and spoken competence in English and French is required. Please state your language capability on your application.

Asset Qualifications: Preference may be given to candidates that possess one or more of the following asset qualifications:

  • Experience within the healthcare sector or public-sector environments
  • Experience leading digital transformation initiatives
  • Knowledge of health information systems, clinical information systems, health data and analytics, privacy, cybersecurity, or digital service delivery
  • Graduate-level education in a related discipline
  • Experience working with research, innovation, or life sciences organizations

Subject to the response of this competition, candidates may be required to demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications, in addition to the essential qualifications, in order to be given further consideration.

The following operational requirement is also required:

  • Occasional travel within the province may be required

Salary: $112,398 to $126,594 per annum (Pay Band 8)
