The New Brunswick College of Pharmacists (NBCP) is the regulatory body responsible for protecting the public and advancing excellence in the practice of pharmacy throughout New Brunswick. The College licenses and regulates pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacies in support of safe, ethical, and competent pharmacy practice across the province.
NBCP is entering an exciting period of transformation. As the regulatory environment continues to evolve through labour mobility initiatives, registration modernization, legislative reform, and workforce development, the College is building its leadership capacity to help shape the future of pharmacy regulation in New Brunswick.
On behalf of NBCP, Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Director of Registration & Licensure to join the organization in a newly established leadership role.
The Role
Reporting to the Deputy Registrar, the Director of Registration & Licensure will provide strategic leadership for the College's registration and licensure portfolio, overseeing regulatory processes that ensure registration and licensing decisions are fair, transparent, efficient, and aligned with the College's public protection mandate.
This is a unique opportunity to lead modernization initiatives that will help shape the future of pharmacy regulation in New Brunswick. The successful candidate will support critical priorities including registration system modernization, labour mobility initiatives, licensure pathway development, educational partnerships, workforce planning, and future legislative reform.
Working closely with College leadership, staff, government partners, educational institutions, and national regulatory organizations, the Director will serve as a key contributor to strategic decision-making and organizational growth.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership for the College's registration and licensure functions, including departmental planning, priorities, service standards, and performance outcomes.
- Lead the ongoing modernization of registration and licensure processes, systems, policies, and regulatory frameworks.
- Oversee registration, licensure, renewal, reinstatement, applicant assessment, and related regulatory activities.
- Lead the review and modernization of registrant and pharmacy registers, ensuring data quality, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
- Define and support the implementation of business and regulatory requirements for enhancements to registration systems, databases, and applicant-facing technology platforms.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for regulatory improvement and operational efficiency.
- Provide leadership on policy development, process reviews, and regulatory initiatives that support public protection while reducing unnecessary barriers to registration.
- Support educational and practice-readiness initiatives, including partnerships with educational institutions, workforce development programs, and credential recognition processes.
- Support the development and implementation of innovative registration, education, assessment, and licensure pathways for internationally educated pharmacy professionals, while advancing labour mobility and workforce development initiatives.
- Contribute to legislative and regulatory reform initiatives, including future amendments to the Pharmacy Act and related regulations.
- Prepare briefing materials, reports, recommendations, and presentations for senior leadership, Council, and committees.
- Build strong relationships with registrants, applicants, educational institutions, government partners, national assessment organizations, and other regulatory bodies.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and support to direct reports while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Represent the College on provincial, regional, and national working groups and committees as required.
- Monitor emerging regulatory, educational, and workforce trends and provide recommendations to support the College's strategic priorities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in public administration, education, health administration, business, law, or another relevant discipline.
- 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience within professional regulation, credentialing, licensing, higher education administration, healthcare, certification, public administration, or a related field.
- Experience leading complex projects, organizational change initiatives, policy development, or process modernization efforts.
- Experience interpreting legislation, regulations, policies, or governance frameworks.
- Demonstrated success building relationships and collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working with professional regulatory bodies, licensing organizations, educational institutions, credentialing agencies, or public sector organizations is considered an asset.
- Experience leading modernization, digital transformation, process improvement, or organizational change initiatives is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulation, professional regulation, credential assessment, workforce planning, or adult education is considered an asset.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is considered a strong asset.
