The Corporate Services and Strategic Investments Division supports the department by providing financial, human resources, strategic planning, project support, and information management services. This division also administers several funding programs that support local, regional, environmental and climate priorities. The division is responsible for the development and tracking of the Climate Change Action Plan and management of the Climate Change Fund and the Output Based Pricing System.

What will you do?

Reporting to the Director of Strategy, Performance Excellence and Engagement Branch, the Strategic Project Advisor is responsible for identifying, enhancing and sustaining improved business processes, organizational performance and services. They will help drive a culture of continuous improvement through leading and facilitating initiatives using a combination of approaches including project management, innovation and human centered-design, agile and Lean Six Sigma (DMAIC/DMADV) methodology. The successful candidate will work collaboratively and support business owners and executive champions to define problems, clarify objectives and develop practical approaches in the delivery of

prioritized projects that may include complex, cross-departmental and large-scale department projects.

As a project professional, the role involves building capacity in the organization through training and coaching, project management, tracking and reporting on progress, facilitating and presenting, as well as assisting with the identification of improvement opportunities across the organization.

Essential qualifications

Bachelor`s Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Social Sciences or other related discipline. A minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible work experience including two (2) years of project management experience and/or leading or facilitating teams.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language capability.

Asset Qualifications

Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate one or more of the following asset qualifications:

  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
  • Certificate in Project Management
  • Certificate in Change Management
  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies, problem solving and change management practices
  • Quality/process improvement experience
  • Experience in data analysis
  • Presentation and group facilitation skills
  • Experience using human-centered design, innovation, or design-thinking methods.

Operational Requirements

Travel throughout the province is required. A valid Class 5 driver`s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick is required.

Wage

Pay Band 6: $3,021.00 to $4,019.00 bi-weekly, based on 36.25 hours per week

Work environment

  • Office location: 20 McGloin (Marysville Place), Fredericton.
  • Standard hours of work: Monday - Friday, 8:15-4:30 (office schedule)
  • Possibility of hybrid work within one of our 6 Regional Offices.
