As part of the Asset Management Team, the Engineer I-IV is responsible for providing engineering support and for ensuring transmission, distribution and generation assets meet reliability, safety, and environmental requirements, and ensuring the assets deliver maximum value throughout their lifecycle.

Key functions include:

• Engineering and Technical Support: Providing engineering support for field resources for maintenance activities, and for new equipment installations that are part of our capital work programs. This would include reviewing apparatus test results, providing solutions when maintenance or apparatus issues arise, sourcing replacement parts when field technicians or stores personnel cannot find direct replacement parts, dealing with installation issues for new equipment, reviewing commissioning results on new equipment; reviewing apparatus test results (maintenance and commissioning) to ensure the health of the equipment is appropriate; dealing with maintenance and operational issues that arise on Transmission and Distribution apparatus.
• Operational Support: Providing operational support for Power System Operator or Distribution System Operator for any operational concerns on Transmission and Distribution Apparatus; dealing with maintenance and operational issues that arise on Transmission and Distribution apparatus.
• Asset Lifecycle, Reliability, and Stakeholder Collaboration: Supporting asset lifecycle, maintenance, and reliability initiatives by evaluating asset condition and lifespan, planning replacements and repairs, developing asset care strategies, reducing equipment downtime, managing maintenance projects, and collaborating with procurement, operations, and other stakeholders to ensure asset availability and readiness.

Our ideal teammate will have:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering
• Registered, or eligible for immediate registration, with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of New Brunswick (APEGNB) as a Member-in-Training or a Professional Engineer.
• A preference will be given to candidates who have a minimum of two years' experience in substation design, or installation of high voltage apparatus (power transformers, high voltage circuit breakers and instrument transformers, 69KV and above).

An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
