Job Title: Forklift Operator

Location: Sackville, NB

Shift: Monday to Friday, 12pm-8pm

Wage: $20/hour

Job Summary

The ideal candidate will operate and manage Johnston Stand up and counterbalance trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries, and move them to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks. The cold warehouse temperatures range between 8 and 10 degrees.

Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to move materials safely and efficiently.
• Load and unload trucks and shipping containers
• Case picking/re-palletizing product for customers
• Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage and pallet stability.
• Complete damage reports and take photos when required.
• Perform pre-shift equipment inspections and report issues to the Operations Manager.
• Ensure loads are secure and properly balanced.
• Stack, organize, and relocate products and pallets.
• Maintain clean and organized work and storage areas.
• Identify and report damaged products, shortages, or quality concerns.
• Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and legal requirements.
• Complete daily equipment inspection and production records accurately

Qualifications and Requirements:

• The ideal candidate is responsible and safety-focused
• Must be comfortable working in cold temperatures- not necessarily freezer
• Must have steel toe safety boots
• Must have a reliable means of transportation
• Previous forklift operating experience is required.
• Able to lift heavy loads and work long shifts.
• Pay close attention to detail and follow safety procedures.
• Operate a forklift safely in busy or tight spaces.
• Have good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to handle fragile and delicate materials with care.
• During downtime, complete tasks from the cleaning list at the shipper/receiver's desk.
• Initial each completed task on the cleaning sheet.
• Report directly to the Operations Manager.
