We are seeking a recent university graduate with a major in accounting, or a student currently eligible to enroll in the CPA program. Students will be guided by more experienced seniors and managers with CPA designations.

Initial responsibilities would include:

• Preparation of compilation engagement working papers and financial statements
• Preparation of T2 corporate tax returns / T1044 NPO returns
• Assistance on audit engagements led by experienced CPAs
• Preparation of T1 personal tax returns
• Preparation of other information returns (T3, T4, T5)
• Basic bookkeeping work / summarizing bank activity
• Completion of professional development activities

Once enough experience is obtained, responsibilities will expand to include:

• Preparation of review engagement working papers and financial statements
• Preparation and leadership of audit engagement working papers and financial statements
• Preparation of T1030 charity returns
• More complex tax work such as capital dividend elections
• Assurance work aside from financial statement audits, such as cost audits and compensation reporting
• Other miscellaneous work such as business valuations, mergers, and tax planning

Job requirements:

Undergraduate degree with a major in accounting, including all courses required to be eligible for entry into the CPA program. Please refer to the transfer credit guide on CPA Atlantic's website to ensure you meet the grade standard for all required courses.
