The Senior UX Designer plays a key role in shaping intuitive, accessible, and engaging digital experiences across web and mobile platforms. This role leads the design of player-centric solutions by leveraging user research, data insights, and industry best practices to create seamless experiences that meet both user needs and business objectives.
Working closely with Product Managers, Developers, Content Specialists, and other stakeholders, the Senior UX Designer champions user-centered design, accessibility, and continuous improvement throughout the product development lifecycle.
As an experienced UX designer, this role contributes UX expertise to product decisions, supports design consistency, and helps deliver exceptional digital experiences across our products.

What You'll Do:
- Lead the design of intuitive, accessible, and engaging experiences across web and mobile products.
- Lead UX initiatives from discovery and concept development through design validation and delivery.
- Plan, facilitate, and synthesize player usability testing and other research activities, translating player insights, user needs, and business objectives into effective design solutions that enhance the overall player experience.
- Partner with Product Managers, Developers, and other stakeholders to define product direction and deliver high-quality player experiences
- Influence product and business decisions by effectively communicating user needs, research insights, and design rationale to stakeholders.
- Champion user-centered design principles and accessibility standards throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Leverage user research, usability testing, analytics, and performance data to identify opportunities and continuously improve customer experiences.
- Provide design leadership through collaboration, coaching, and mentorship of UX team members without direct people management responsibilities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes, standards, and practices with the team.
Education and Experience:
- 5+ years in UX Design, Product Design, or UX Research with demonstrable senior‑level impact.
- Experience delivering complex design initiatives and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong understanding of WCAG accessibility standards
- Must be 19 years of age or older and reside in Atlantic Canada.
Professional Skills:
- Expertise in human‑centered design, information architecture, interaction design, and UX research.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to contribute UX decisions across teams.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with ability to translate research and strategy for stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker who can connect product goals, user needs, and business outcomes.
- Proficiency with Figma and experience with design systems (AEM experience is an asset).
Assets (Nice-to-Haves):
- Experience with large-scale design system governance.
- Background in service design, customer journey mapping or product strategy initiatives.
- Experience working in Agile product teams.
Work Location & Flexibility
- Remote within Atlantic Canada, or hybrid work from our Moncton (NB), Dartmouth (NS), or Saint John's (NL) office.
- Occasional travel for key workshops, planning sessions, or major milestones may be required.
Compensation
- Salary Band: $75,200 - $122,200
- Expected Hiring Range: $90,000 - $97,000 (based on experience, skills, market conditions, and internal equity)

Recruitment Process

Role Commitment
To support employee development, business continuity, and knowledge transfer, individuals who accept this position are expected to remain in the role for a minimum of 18 months before being eligible to apply for or transfer to another position within Atlantic Lottery.
This expectation applies to both external hires and employees moving into the role from another position.
Internal Candidates
Internal applicants must be in good standing, including meeting expectations on their most recent performance review, and must not be on probation. Consideration may also include factors such as performance improvement plans, disciplinary actions, attendance, and completion of mandatory training.
A Predictive Index (PI) assessment will be completed or shared with the hiring leader as part of the evaluation process.
