Are you looking for a key role where your payroll and compliance expertise will have a direct impact on more than 325 employees across Canada?

The Senior Payroll Analyst is responsible for the full payroll cycle for the head office and subsidiaries, ensuring compliance with all applicable Canadian legal, tax, and regulatory requirements. As a subject matter expert, the incumbent provides guidance and support to employees, managers, and subsidiaries on payroll and compensation matters. This role requires a high degree of autonomy, attention to detail, leadership, and a strong understanding of Canadian payroll practices and accounting principles.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities associated with this position include:

  • Prepare and process payroll accurately using WorkForceNow (ADP);
  • Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax and legislative requirements;
  • Prepare and issue Records of Employment (ROEs) and tax slips (T4, RL-1, T2200, etc.);
  • Manage statutory deductions and other payroll withholdings (investments, insurance, mortgages, etc.);
  • Prepare reports required by provincial workers' compensation boards;
  • Work closely with the Human Resources, Finance, and Information Technology teams;
  • Assume certain supervisory, coordination, and coaching responsibilities related to payroll operations;
  • Serve as a key contact for the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA), Revenu Québec, and other provincial authorities;
  • Develop, update, and maintain internal documentation and procedures;
  • Ensure payroll deadlines are met to guarantee accurate and timely payroll processing.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience in a multi-provincial environment;
  • Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation required; Payroll Leadership Professional (PLP) designation considered an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, tax regulations, employment standards, and compliance requirements;
  • Proficiency with WorkForceNow (ADP) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel;
  • Experience with pension plans, group benefits, government remittances, and year-end payroll processes;
  • Demonstrated experience providing supervision, coordination, or guidance within a payroll team;
  • Excellent communication skills in both French and English, written and spoken;
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities;
  • Proven leadership, autonomy, attention to detail, discretion, and organizational skills.
