We have an excellent opportunity for an ambitious, results-oriented sales leader looking to play a key role in a rapidly growing company and contribute to accelerating its growth.
As a Business Development Director - Investments, the successful candidate is responsible for achieving sales targets for individual savings products with the managing general agencies (MGAs) and brokers assigned to their territory. In this role, the Business Development Director must build and maintain strong business relationships with brokers and MGAs, while demonstrating a strong client-focused approach.
In addition to possessing in-depth knowledge of individual savings products, the successful candidate must be dynamic, enthusiastic, and have strong problem-solving skills. They will play a key role within the Sales and Marketing team while representing Assumption Life to MGAs and brokers throughout their territory (Quebec).
- Achieve or exceed monthly and annual sales, calls, and meetings targets.
- Implement the long-term sales growth strategy for the business line.
- Maintain and develop relationships with our distribution partners, including managing general agencies (MGAs) and advisors.
- Implement sales and retention strategies with our distribution partners. These strategies will include meetings, presentations, and various business development activities with advisors and MGAs.
- Proactively contact existing advisors to inform them about Assumption Life products and how they can leverage our product portfolio to grow their business.
- Identify and pursue new advisor relationships and distribution opportunities.
- Provide business development support to advisors in order to deliver added value to our distribution networks.
- Participate in promotional events as an ambassador for Assumption Life.
- University degree in Business Administration or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of the Quebec brokerage and managing general agency (MGA) market.
- Minimum of five years of experience in the investment brokerage industry.
- Minimum of three years of experience in the sale of financial products.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French, along with good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Excellent sales, negotiation, and networking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Ability to develop and deliver presentations and workshops.
- Creativity in identifying new business opportunities and driving growth.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Professional Financial Planner (PFP), Chartered Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Investment Management (CIM) designations are an asset.
Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales objectives while increasing market share.
- Experience with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) is considered an asset.
