Opportunity

As an Account Executive, you'll be responsible for growing, retaining, and strengthening relationships within an assigned portfolio of business. Reporting to the Regional Manager, Atlantic Group Sales, you'll work closely with brokers, clients, and internal partners to deliver group benefits solutions that meet evolving business needs while supporting Medavie Blue Cross's growth objectives.

As a trusted relationship manager, you'll develop a deep understanding of your clients' goals and challenges, providing solutions that create long-term value and help them achieve their business objectives. Known for your expertise in group benefits and your ability to build strong partnerships, you'll bring forward insights and recommendations that help clients make informed decisions while contributing to the success of your portfolio.

This role offers the flexibility of working remotely or through a hybrid arrangement from one of our offices in Dartmouth, Moncton, or Charlottetown. Regular travel throughout the assigned territory is required to support relationship building, business development activities, and client engagement.

What You'll Do

  • Work collaboratively with your team to execute sales and business development strategies.
  • Be responsible for the sales performance, retention, and financial management of your assigned block of business.
  • Achieve annual targets related to new business growth, retention, profitability, and overall portfolio performance.
  • Manage and retain an inforce block of business while identifying opportunities to expand client value and strengthen relationships.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain relationships with brokers, clients, and prospective clients.
  • Partner with underwriting, implementation, proposal, and service teams to deliver effective solutions and exceptional client experiences.
  • Conduct presentations, client meetings, and educational seminars.
  • Develop and execute action plans to identify business opportunities and support portfolio growth.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through ongoing learning, industry involvement, and networking opportunities.

About You

  • You have 5+ years of experience in sales, group benefits, insurance, or a related field.
  • You excel at building meaningful partnerships with brokers, clients, and key stakeholders and take a consultative approach to understanding their needs.
  • You have a proven track record of achieving business development and client management objectives.
  • You have experience developing and managing broker relationships and understand the importance of growing and retaining a successful block of business.
  • You enjoy collaborating with others and building strong partnerships across teams.
  • You bring a customer-focused mindset and are committed to building trusted relationships that support long-term success.
  • You have strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.

Other Qualifications

  • A current Life Licence would be considered an asset.
  • A valid driver's licence is required.
  • Bilingualism in English and French would be considered an asset.

Compensation

  • $61,230 - $81,000 CAD.
  • In addition to base salary, this role is eligible to participate in our sales incentive program.
