Title: Senior Manager, Publishing - Prevention & Safety

In this role, you will:
- Lead a multidisciplinary team responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and improvement of accessible learning program products in print, digital, and online formats.
- Provide strategic direction on product design and production to the Leadership Team, while providing coaching, resource planning, and operational oversight to ensure design and production priorities are aligned with organizational objectives and products are delivered efficiently and meet established quality and product standards.
- Lead team annual budget planning and oversee ongoing budget monitoring, forecasting, and resource allocation to ensure effective stewardship of financial resources and alignment with organizational priorities.
- Make decisions on hiring, promotion, and performance with senior leadership approval, fostering teamwork and innovation, operating within financial guidelines, and contributing to budget planning and financial reporting.
- Address complex product, workflow, and resourcing challenges by analyzing business needs, evaluating options, and developing practical solutions that balance user needs, organizational priorities, and operational constraints, with escalation for alignment with business unit goals.
- Manage the design, development, maintenance, and governance of accessible products to support effective project planning and delivery, including content development and architecture, visual and production design, UX, UI design, digital asset creation and management, content strategy, creative direction, art direction, and English, French, and multilingual deliverables.
- Coordinate with the team, our team partners within Prevention & Safety, and stakeholders to assess the readiness of projects for product and publication development (including resourcing and timelines) and define product and publication requirements to deliver cohesive, branded, accessible, and user-centred learning experiences across digital, print, online, and blended formats.
- Oversee team to develop, maintain, and follow standards for creating accessible, inclusive, useful, usable, and relevant products, and grow the team's expertise in creating and delivering user-friendly products across our offerings (online courses, in-person courses, printed and digital products, audio and visual products, etc.).
What we are looking for:
- A minimum of 6 to 9 years of experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree in product design, publication design, publishing, user experience, instructional design, communications, multimedia, or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Requires expertise in a specialized discipline or broad experience across fields, along with an understanding of interconnections between processes and business units to provide effective leadership.
- Deep understanding of learning programs and their product development, lifecycle management, and risk management across print, digital, online, and blended formats, including deep understanding of accessibility and inclusivity, user experience and usability principles, Agile and Waterfall delivery approaches, and product and publication governance, quality assurance, and operational processes.
- Leadership and team management skills with the ability to resolve conflicts and inspire, motivate, and engage teams to achieve program objectives.
- Proficiency with collaboration, project management, content authoring, and learning technology platforms such as Microsoft 365 (including Teams and SharePoint), Atlassian tools (Jira and Confluence), Adobe Acrobat, Articulate Rise, D2L Brightspace, Vimeo, and related publishing technologies.
- French language comprehension would be an asset in this role, as well as familiarity with instructional design and learning experience design, content strategy and information architecture, digital asset management, multimedia production and creative direction.
