Job Description:

Reporting to the Offshore Lead Supervisor (DSV) and East Coast Drilling Superintendent, the Offshore Night Supervisor (NDSV) oversees offshore well operations during night shift activities on the Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU). The NDSV is responsible for the safe, efficient and regulatory-compliant execution of drilling, completion and well intervention operations in accordance with approved well programs, company procedures and applicable regulatory requirements. The NDSV provides operational leadership during the assigned shift and serves as the primary company representative offshore in the absence of the DSV, ensuring continuity of operations, contractor management, well integrity and safety performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise offshore well operations during assigned shifts.
  • Ensure drilling, completion and well intervention activities are executed in accordance with approved well programs, procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate drilling contractor and third-party service provider activities during night shift operations.
  • Monitor operational progress and ensure activities are performed safely and efficiently.
  • Identify operational risks and implement mitigation measures within approved authorities.
  • Participate in shift handovers, operational planning meetings, risk assessments and SIMOPS reviews.
  • Verify compliance with HSE requirements, well integrity standards and permit-to-work systems.
  • Review operational data, daily reports and equipment performance to support operational decision-making.
  • Escalate operational issues, non-conformances and safety concerns to the Offshore Lead Supervisor and onshore management as required.
  • Support emergency response activities and incident management during assigned shifts.
  • Coordinate logistics and operational readiness to minimise downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Ensure operational records, reports and regulatory documentation are completed accurately.
  • Promote continuous improvement, safe work practices and effective communication across all offshore personnel.

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Engineering degree
  • Minimum 15 Years experience in offshore drilling, well construction, well intervention, and well operations, including supervisory responsibility on offshore drilling facilities.

Required certifications:

  • IWCF/IADC or Well CAPP Offshore Floating Well Control Certification (Supervisor Level)
  • IWCF Intervention Well Control (Level 4)
  • Offshore survival and medical certification
  • H2S Alive (where required)
