The Product Specialist is responsible for gathering, analyzing, documenting, and prioritizing the needs of users, clients, advisors, and business lines to support the continuous improvement of digital platforms for the Investments & Retirement and Individual Insurance business lines, including client and advisor portals.

The incumbent acts as a liaison between business and IT teams. They translate business needs into user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.

The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating and prioritizing the backlog, as well as coordinating the delivery and deployment of user stories. They contribute to the continuous improvement of both the user experience and business processes.

Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and document the needs of users, clients, advisors, and business lines, translating them into user stories, functional requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate and prioritize the backlog in collaboration with Administration, Distribution, Marketing, and other business teams to ensure initiatives align with organizational priorities.
  • Coordinate the delivery and deployment of user stories with IT teams, developers, and other stakeholders, while monitoring priorities, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Analyze enhancement requests and issues raised by users to optimize the user experience and digital platforms for the Investments & Retirement and Individual Insurance business lines.
  • Monitor initiatives, communicate progress to stakeholders, and contribute to the continuous improvement of digital portals.
Qualifications
  • University degree, college diploma, or equivalent education in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Information Technology, Business Analysis, Management, Marketing, Customer Experience, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in business analysis, product management, process improvement, customer experience, or digital platform and systems management.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and translating business needs into functional requirements, acceptance criteria, and/or user stories.
  • Experience collaborating with IT teams, developers, and various business units within an Agile or technology-driven environment.
  • Experience managing and prioritizing a backlog is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry would be considered an asset.
