Equipment Engineer - Gas Turbines

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and support long-term asset plans for gas turbine equipment, including a twenty (20) year outlook with detailed one (1) to five (5) year maintenance planning.
- Develop and maintain maintenance philosophies, strategies, and tactics that help ensure equipment is operated and maintained safely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Complete asset failure and criticality analyses, identify recurring maintenance issues, and recommend practical actions to improve performance and reliability.
- Establish and maintain critical spare parts requirements to support operational readiness and effective maintenance planning.
- Monitor asset performance and lead or support investigations using accepted failure analysis techniques; prepare clear reports outlining issues, corrective actions, recommendations, and associated costs.
- Provide operational, technical, and engineering support for equipment issues, including protection and control equipment and related philosophies.
- Support the justification, preparation, and control of gas turbine operating and capital budgets.
- Coordinate with Hydro teams, external partners, and service providers to complete maintenance, upgrade, and operational planning activities.
- Support predictive maintenance programs, including vibration, thermal, and acoustic monitoring, and use results to strengthen asset reliability.
What We're Looking For:
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
- Able to implement strategy through interpretation of cost estimate data, project scheduling and risk analysis.
What You'll Need:
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- You must be eligible for membership with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL) as either a professional member or engineer-in-training.
- Five (5) years progressively responsible and relevant experience in Gas Turbines.
- Must possess a good working knowledge of computers and corporate software applications. Such as JDEdwards, Microsoft Suite and Project Management tools.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
