Construction Labourer

Job Title: Entry-Level Construction Labourer
Location: Halifax Regional Municipality, NS
Shift/Hours: Day shift
Pay Rate: Based on experience

The Entry-Level Construction Labourer will support active construction projects throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality. This role involves general labour, site cleanup, moving materials, assisting tradespeople, and following site safety procedures.

This position is suited for someone who is reliable, physically capable, and interested in gaining hands-on experience in the construction industry. Previous construction experience is considered an asset but is not required.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with general labour duties, including lifting, carrying, and moving construction materials
• Support site preparation and daily construction activities
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site
• Remove debris and assist with routine site cleanup
• Assist supervisors, tradespeople, and senior labourers with assigned tasks
• Learn and safely use basic construction tools and equipment
• Follow workplace safety policies and site instructions
• Wear required personal protective equipment while on site
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, and walking throughout the shift
• Complete additional duties as assigned by site supervisors or management

Requirements:

• Previous construction, labour, or site experience considered an asset
• Able to perform physical labour throughout the shift
• Able to lift, carry, bend, stand, and work in a physically demanding environment
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather and site conditions
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices
• Willing to learn and take direction
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Good communication skills
• CSA-approved safety boots required
