SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual essential

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent provides quality audiology services to patients and their families and performs related administrative tasks. They screen for, assess, identify, and treat hearing loss, auditory processing disorders, tinnitus, other auditory disorders, and balance issues in individuals of all ages. They also provide services to patients with cochlear or bone-conduction implants—such as candidacy assessments, post-implant follow-up and rehabilitation, and case management—while acting as a patient advocate (liaising with implant manufacturers, NIHB, and insurance companies), conducting research, teaching, and pursuing professional development. They adjust hearing aids or other assistive devices based on clients' hearing needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in Audiology from a recognized university;
  • Member in good standing with the Regulatory College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of New Brunswick (RCASLPNB);
  • Experience in hearing aid fitting and verification, an asset;
  • Experience in the field of cochlear implants, an asset;
  • Understanding the needs of the deaf and hard hearing population;
  • Good judgment and organizational skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physically able to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality established by the Vitalité Health Network.
