Service New Brunswick is seeking an individual to join the Health Services Division in the Supply Chain unit as a Purchasing Clerk.
The Health Services Supply Chain Branch is driven to provide excellence in service delivery to its valued customers, the Regional Health Authorities and SNB Health. Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Clerk is responsible for providing support to Purchasing in the Health Services division at Service New Brunswick.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Processing manual and electronic requisitions.
- Transcribing electronic requisitions into purchase orders (POs) and forwarding them to the appropriate Purchasing Agent.
- Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) session.
- Assigning correct Purchasing Agent mnemonic on the electronic requisition.
- Follow-up on orders with suppliers, include the information in the computerized system (Meditech) and forward the information to Purchasing Agents.
- Check order confirmations received from suppliers and forward the exceptions to appropriate Purchasing Agent.
- Perform general office duties such as data entry, filing, photocopying, faxing, and processing mail.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area.
- Show others how to perform tasks or duties as a part of departmental orientation.
- Adhere to corporate policies and procedures.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or successful completion of GED, supplemented by graduation from a one (1) year post-secondary program in office administration or a related program
- A minimum of three (3) years of related work experience
- Working knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Written and spoken competence in English and French is required.
Subject to the response to this competition, an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to candidates who demonstrate they have training or experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Experience with the Meditech system
- Experience in the procurement field

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Travel throughout the province may be required therefore candidates must possess a valid New Brunswick driver's licence.

Salary: From $25.82 to $30.59 hourly Administrative Services Level 3 - Administrative Assistants, Clerical and Regulatory, Office, Data Processing and Duplicating Equipment Operation.
The wage scales shown reflect the newly signed NBU Collective Agreement. During the implementation period, new hires may temporarily be placed on the wage scale in effect prior to the new collective agreement. Once processing is complete, employees will receive any applicable retroactive adjustments.
