Summary
The Trade Worker II – Plumber is responsible for performing skilled plumbing maintenance, repairs, installations, preventative maintenance, and emergency response in support of the safe and reliable operation of NLHS facilities. The position requires troubleshooting and repairing plumbing and associated building systems, responding to service requests and infrastructure failures, identifying and reporting deficiencies, maintaining accurate work records, assisting other trades with maintenance activities, and supporting facility maintenance and renewal projects. A valid driver's license is required. Regular job demands include lifting and moving materials and equipment, using tools requiring accuracy and steadiness, standing, walking, climbing, maintaining balance, and working in awkward or cramped positions requiring strength and endurance. Work is often subject to changing priorities, interruptions, service disruptions, and time pressures. The employee is expected to work safely and independently, follow applicable NLHS policies, safety and infection prevention requirements, communicate effectively with staff and other trades, and perform other related duties as required in support of safe, reliable, and efficient facilities and patient care.

Qualifications: Completion of an Interprovincial Journeyman’s Certificate in a plumbing is required and a minimum of 2-3 years of experience. A valid driver’s license is also required.
