About Us

NL Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for delivering health and community services to the people of Newfoundland and Labrador across five geographical areas. Our Digital Health team supports the province's Epic Health Information System, working to ensure clinicians and staff across the province have reliable, secure access to the tools they need to deliver care.

About the Role
We are currently looking to hire permanent full-time Epic Client Systems Analyst (ECSA) position(s) to work in Digital Health. Reporting to [Reporting Manager TBD], you will be responsible for the following:
- Install and manage the Epic application deployment platforms serving production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs.
- Install and maintain the administrative and monitoring tools necessary for high availability and performance of the Epic system.
- Manage print queues and Epic printing infrastructure and perform file system management.
- Monitor network and web server activity for security breaches using intrusion detection techniques.
- Apply platform and Epic upgrades and updates to production and non-production web server components.
- Respond to emergency and after-hours issues as a key contact for urgent production issues.
- Participate in the change control process for all planned application and technical activities and engage in capacity planning exercises.
- Maintain technical documentation and support/train end users on Hyperspace, Hyperdrive, and Citrix technologies.

About You
- Your education and experience include:
- Graduation from a recognized university with a Computer Science degree, or a bachelor's degree supplemented by a recognized graduate diploma in Information Technology (minimum 1 year), or a 3-year Information Technology diploma from a recognized technical college is required.
- A minimum of five years’ progressively responsible experience within the last seven years in enterprise IT Infrastructure in areas of Data Center with focus in system design, planning, installation, and administration is required.
- Willingness to acquire Epic certification; prerequisites, participate in Epic training/education sessions, complete self-assessments and successfully challenge the certification exam is required.

You have the following skills and abilities:
- Expertise in Microsoft Windows server administration and a virtualization platform such as Citrix XenServer, VMware ESXi, or Microsoft Hyper-V.
- Experience with hardware or software load balancing solutions such as F5 BIG-IP or Citrix NetScaler
- Working knowledge of network protocols and functionality (TCP/IP, Active Directory, DNS, FTP/SCP, HTTP) and working knowledge of Microsoft IIS administration.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize under pressure and meet deadlines.

It would be an asset if you have:
- Epic HIS certification in Hyperspace, Hyperdrive, and Citrix technologies.
- MCSE, Cloud Computing/DevOps, or ITIL certification.
- Experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or SQL.
- Experience with healthcare IT systems and processes.
Demonstrated equivalencies may be considered.
