JOB SUMMARY:

The major transformation of the primary and community health sector involves the development, construction, and eventual maintenance of more than 250,000 square feet of infrastructure. To effectively oversee this program, the Health and Community Services Infrastructure sector requires the addition of a position that will help support the management of major projects during the design and construction phases. Specifically, this individual will work closely with design teams to ensure they adhere to specific standards and will help select components that meet our needs and minimize operational impacts once the building is delivered.

Following the completion of the building portfolio serving community needs, the role will transition to managing minor projects related to requests for leasehold improvements. The individual will also serve as an advisor on technical building standards to maintain in-house expertise within the sector. The position will also involve developing an inventory of service providers based on their expertise and the regions they serve. This person will also be responsible for developing a preventive maintenance program to minimize service disruptions caused by unexpected failures of building components.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College or university degree in engineering, architecture, project management, or related fields deemed equivalent;
  • PMI (Project Management Institute) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus;
  • 10 years of experience as a technician or 5 years as a professional engineer or architect in a technical role;
  • At least 5 years of experience in a hospital setting, operations, maintenance, or construction;
  • 2 years of experience as a Project Manager for construction projects;
  • Years of experience as a Project Manager for projects exceeding $1 million is a plus;
  • Demonstrates excellent knowledge of issues related to clinical and commercial construction projects;
  • Demonstrates skills and knowledge specific to hands-on experience with large-scale construction projects carried out in hospitals or clinical settings;
  • Demonstrates mastery of all phases of project management;
  • Strong abilities to listen, communicate, bring people together, mobilize teams, and assume a leadership role in general;
  • Strong ability to identify risks, constraints, and appropriate solutions based on the context and circumstances, along with a strong capacity to adjust and adapt;
  • Possesses excellent knowledge of the measures to be implemented for infection prevention and control during construction work;
  • Possesses excellent knowledge of health and safety standards for staff and clients applicable in the clinical setting;
  • Demonstrates excellent administrative skills in producing documentation, filing, preparing for meetings, creating written presentations, and developing work and communication tools;
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency in various Microsoft Office applications, as well as MS Project;
  • Adheres to the company's principles of continuous improvement;
  • Possesses a valid driver's license;
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned duties;
  • Good previous work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, to the Network management philosophy and organizational values;
