As part of our Head Office Sales team, the HVAC Specialist will be responsible for cultivating strong vendor and customer relationships while ensuring the assigned HVAC, hydronic, radiant heating, and related product lines support the company's overall business plan and growth strategy.

This individual will provide technical expertise, sales support, and direction to branch sales teams while monitoring performance to ensure division and corporate objectives are achieved within scheduled timelines and budgets. The ability to work collaboratively with branches, contractors, engineers, and customers while providing guidance on quotations, specifications, and system applications is an important aspect of this role.

The HVAC Specialist will draw on extensive experience in HVAC, hydronics, radiant heating systems, and wholesale distribution to provide strategic input, technical recommendations, and identify opportunities for growth within the company. A key element of this position is a dedication to ongoing professional development and maintaining current knowledge of HVAC technologies, industry trends, energy-efficient solutions, and evolving regulations.

What you'll do:

  • Build and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Negotiate and recommend favourable product lines.
  • Upon approval of the Corporate Sales Manager, initiate and coordinate effective corporate product promotions.
  • Execute product initiatives, promotions, and recommend branch sales training opportunities.
  • Assist with vendor relations, training events, and customer demonstrations.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to branch teams and customers regarding HVAC, hydronic, and radiant heating systems.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of:
    • HVAC systems and applications
    • Hydronic heating systems including boilers, pumps, controls, and hydronic coils
    • Radiant heating systems including in-floor heating applications
    • Ventilation and air movement products
    • Energy-efficient and high-performance HVAC technologies
  • Assist branches and customers with job quotations, product selection, troubleshooting, and system recommendations.
  • Support specification review and interpretation for HVAC and hydronic projects.
  • Deliver technical product training and education to branch employees and customers.

Qualifications and key competencies:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent industry experience.
  • 7-10 years of experience in HVAC systems and applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of hydronic and radiant heating systems.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in wholesale distribution or related industry.
  • Ability to explain HVAC, hydronic, and radiant heating principles and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to speak clearly and confidently in both business and technical settings.
  • Ability to read, understand, and calculate financial figures including discounts, percentages, margins, and commissions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to HVAC and hydronic applications.

This is a full-time position that may be located anywhere in the Maritimes with preference for individuals located near Eddy Group Ltd locations. Regular business hours are from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday, however, occasional work outside these hours should be expected.

Annual base salary will be commensurate with your experience.
