Title : Vehicle Equipment installer

Pay: $21.00 to $24.00 Hourly (Based on Experience)
Shift: Monday-Friday 8:30AM - 4:30PM
Location: Ottawa West

We are currently recruiting for a Vehicle Modification Technician on behalf of a well-established and innovative client specializing in sale and installation of commercial vehicle equipment in the Ottawa area. The company is an industry leader in providing complete vehicle solutions, including ladder racks, shelving and storage systems, security equipment, electrical components, and customized installations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined, hands-on individual who enjoys working with tools, solving problems, and transforming commercial vehicles to meet specific customer requirements. The successful candidate will work as part of a collaborative team in a professional environment with opportunities to develop and expand their technical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Install shelving, storage systems, partitions, racks, flooring, and interior vehicle components.
• Install electrical equipment, lighting, wiring, and vehicle accessories.
• Install fleet equipment, safety systems, and commercial vehicle accessories.
• Perform vehicle modifications and conversions according to customer specifications.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Read and follow installation instructions, diagrams, and specifications.
• Measure, cut, drill, fasten, and assemble various materials.
• Inspect completed installations to ensure quality, safety, and proper functionality.
• Troubleshoot installation issues and make necessary adjustments.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Valid G Class Driver's Licence.
• Driver's Abstract dated within 30 days of application.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in automotive, vehicle upfitting, vehicle modification, installation, or a related trade.
• Experience working with hand and power tools.
• Comfortable working with basic electrical components and wiring.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and diagrams.
• Ability to lift and handle up to 50 lbs daily.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including bending, reaching, standing, and working inside and around vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
