The Senior Accounting Specialist is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring accurate financial records across multiple legal entities. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong hands-on bookkeeping experience, advanced excel skills (i.e. Power Query, pivot tables, macros etc.), the ability to manage competing priorities, and a solid understanding of multi-entity accounting and period end close processes.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records across multiple entities, ensuring proper segregation, consistency, and integrity while processing high volume daily transactions.
  • Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including:
    • Accounts receivable.
    • Bank, credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Vendor reconciliations.
    • Related party reconciliations.
    • Journal entries and general ledger maintenance.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes across all entities.
  • Prepare and review intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and applicable regulations.
  • Assist with financial reporting, including internal management reports.
  • Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, and tax advisors as required.
  • Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff as needed.
  • Respond to finance-related inquiries from internal stakeholders.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or similar field.
  • 5+ years of progressive bookkeeping or accounting experience.
  • Professional accounting designation or progress toward one is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple legal entities.
  • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar).
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
