As the Marketing Coordinator, you are a highly motivated and creative self-starter with experience and a passion for communications, marketing and all things innovation. As an active and engaged member of the Marketing Department, you are able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, have excellent attention to detail and can use your communication skills to connect with the innovation community. The Marketing Coordinator will provide marketing and communications expertise across a wide range of departmental responsibilities, taking ownership of marketing projects and supporting the marketing and event team members in achieving marketing goals and deadlines. Acting as a brand champion and a key contributor, the Marketing Coordinator is also responsible for social media and newsletters, including messaging, visuals, content calendar planning, and performance, ensuring brand alignment is delivered on our channels.

Core Responsibilities

Project Management and Brand Leader

  • Support the execution of projects and initiatives for the department and organization
  • Review all marketing assets, reports and brochures, ensuring all assets are engaging, in line with brand standards, and error-free
  • Contribute to the development and execution of internal and external marketing, communications and event initiatives

Marketing and Communications

  • Design and develop engaging marketing materials, presentation decks, brochures, signage, website content and other collateral
  • Ensure all content is on-brand, consistent in terms of style, quality and tone
  • Translate program marketing strategy into powerful and purposeful creative concepts that engages, informs and inspires target audiences across a variety of communication channels

Newsletters and Social Media

  • Execute an engaging social media strategy that elevates our brands, including developing social media calendars and content aligned with the brand's voice and tone
  • Plan, create and schedule valuable and engaging content for social media that attracts and converts
  • Monitor brand, client and partner mentions across social media channels for increased engagement with all audiences
  • Create successful email marketing campaigns from ideation to content and results reporting (CRM and Constant Contact)
  • Make recommendations and show continuous improvement in content performance
  • Support and maintain visibility of mass email communications delivered by other departments

Website

* Own and maintain website content updates as needed through WordPress, including posting news, events and directories for respective sites

Analytics and Reporting

  • Prepare monthly KPIs and statistics as well as additional customized reports as required
  • Analyze performance metrics and basic user behaviour in social analytics, and monitor effective benchmarks for measurement of digital marketing efforts
  • Continuously research and analyze past communication campaigns, competitor campaigns, industry trends and best practices to determine the most effective methods of communicating with target audiences

Special Projects and Cross-Functional Support

  • Coordinate and maintain photo and video library and digital assets in collaboration with other Marketing team members
  • Actively participate in team and organization meetings, and maintain strong and effective communication with the team through a variety of inter-team software tools including Slack, Zoom and G-Suite
  • Represent iF at community events, and conferences (which can fall in and outside of typical business hours and in-person or virtual)
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related discipline (marketing, PR or communications) or equivalent experience
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in marketing and communications
  • Experience with social media marketing platforms and tools (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, social media scheduling platforms, etc.)
  • Ability to conceptualize easily, work within brand guidelines and bring out the tone of a brand
  • Ability to learn quickly, and independently exercise good judgement
  • Effective project management skills and ability to contribute and collaborate as part of a team
  • Strong English language verbal and written communication skills, demonstrated through error-free copywriting abilities, exceptional storytelling and ability to simplify complex details.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Constant Contact and other tools/apps such as CRM system
  • Self-starter, able to work both independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively with cross-functional groups to achieve desired outcomes
  • Customer service orientation, attention to detail and the ability to balance multiple demands and deadlines through effective time management and organizational skills
Assets
  • Previous experience with photography, videography and/or Adobe Creative Suite and graphic design
  • Familiarity with the life science or transportation sectors
  • Marketing or Communication agency experience
Working Conditions
  • 5 days per week; 37.5 hours per week; regular daytime business hours are between 9 am EST and 5 pm EST.
  • Opportunity for a hybrid work model, allowing some remote work
  • Some localized travel required
