Who we are:
Nova Scotia Early Childhood Development Intervention Services (NSECDIS) provides province-wide services for families of children, birth to school entry, who may be at risk for, or with a diagnosis of, developmental delay. Our goal to promote improved developmental outcomes for children through consultation, coaching, information sharing, support and services designed to meet the individual needs of the child and family. Services emphasize the enhancement of skills and ability through planned interactions to promote child development and family capacity and are delivered in the child's home and community-based programs.
We also facilitate Early Learning and Child Care program and Early Childhood Educator capacity building through coaching within Child-care and Pre-primary programs with use of The Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children.

The Behaviour Specialist for NSECDIS is responsible for collaboratively shaping and leading the strategic planning, consultative support and professional development related to the building of NSECDIS staff and their associated families and programs, capacity to support young children's social emotional development and self-regulation. This role will work collaboratively with Developmental Interventionists, Inclusion Coaches, as well as regional and provincial NSECDIS leadership to support core training, program planning, and staff capacity building through coaching.
This role will report to the Executive Director and will be collaboratively supported by the Learning and Development Specialist.
