SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY :

The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and supervising exercise programs for patients with chronic conditions. Responsibilities include preparing exercise prescriptions, supervising exercise sessions, providing educational sessions on exercise, and preparing necessary materials. The incumbent also monitors patient responses to exercise (heart rate, blood pressure, RPE, oxygen saturation, and ECG interpretation), adjusts exercise programs as needed, supervises kinesiology interns, and promotes the program. The role also involves participating in the planning and implementation of program activities and may include quality improvement, performance management, statistical analysis, research, and workload management.

REQUIREMENTS :

  • Certified member with the New Brunswick Kinesiology Association;
  • Certification as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist from the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), or obtain it within the established timeframe;
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate;
  • Good knowledge of IT tools;
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Good organizational and priority-setting skills;
  • Sound clinical judgment and decision-making ability;
  • Valid driver's license and availability to use one's own vehicle in the performance of duties;
  • Availability to travel within the zone's territory;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethical principles, the Network's management philosophy, and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality set by Vitalité Health Network.
