Electronics Test Technician

Location: Halifax, NS
Department: Quality Assurance and Support & Sustain
Reports To: Test Supervisor

We are looking for an Electronics Test Technician to join our Test Team. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, and troubleshooting broadcast equipment and electronic assemblies while working closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical work, continuous learning, and being part of a team that delivers high-quality products to customers around the world.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Test broadcast transmitter systems, transmitters and electronic assemblies using technical documentation and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose failures to the subassembly or component level when required.
  • Interpret schematics, work orders, test procedures, and other technical documentation.
  • Use specialized electronic test equipment to verify product performance.
  • Support factory acceptance tests and customer demonstrations.
  • Maintain accurate test records and quality documentation.
  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance quality, efficiency, and safety.
  • Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology, Electronic Engineering Technician, or equivalent technical training.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation.
  • Experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, multimeters, signal generators, and soldering equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience testing RF, broadcast, telecommunications, or other industrial electronic equipment.
  • Experience with component or system-level troubleshooting and repair.
  • Familiarity with quality systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience using JIRA, Confluence, or similar electronic database systems.
