Reporting to the Provincial Manager, Compensation and Benefits.

Qualifications:
Successful completion of a three-year Diploma in Business Administration, HR concentration preferred; equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
A minimum of three years administrative experience of a progressively responsible nature in the field of human resources would be preferred.
Experience in computerized payroll environment required.
Computer literacy with extensive knowledge and ability to use software programs, including word processing, spreadsheets, internet and e-mail.
Knowledge of Human Resources benefits administration.
Working knowledge of Meditech and Human Resources Information System.
Knowledge of the provincial NAPE and RNUNL collective agreements would be considered an asset.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to function in an extremely confidential environment and consistently maintain this high level of confidentiality at all times.
Ability to perform a variety of responsibilities exercising both initiative and judgment while applying prioritization proficiency.
Typing speed of 40 words per minute (applicants may be required to take a typing test).

Duties (Included but not limited to):
Performs regular audits to ensure accuracy of the HR components of the payroll system as it relates to employee pay and benefits.
Generates computer reports to track overdrawn balances on pay and benefits.
Provides data to the Payroll department for the purpose of setting up and changing Meditech dictionaries.
Send the exception report to managers for follow-up.
Arranges for the portability of benefits for new employees from other Health Care Boards.
Coordinates Labrador Travel payouts.
Forward requests to Accounts Receivable for HR billings.
Prepares Meditech reports regarding pay and benefits.
Implements salary changes for various contracts and collective agreements.
Prepares issues and monitors Professional Associations report. Coordinates process regionally to ensure that deadlines are met.
As a Commissioner for Oaths, ensures that confidentiality statements are completed and placed on personnel files.
Completes payroll changes on a biweekly basis.
Uses a computerized system to monitor service and ensures that employee’s hourly rates are changed.
Reviews payroll records for terminating employees.
Reviews payroll records for terminating employee, including processing applicable GMPP and PSPP forms.
Adds new hires on the system and reviews benefit banks, withholdings, banking info, tax info, GMPP application).
Completes Letters - experience credits letters, employment letters, licensing letters.
Procesess Portability Forms.
Secondary Job Codes.
Address & Name Changes.
Other related duties.
