We are seeking an experienced and hands-on IT Field Manager to support our industrial quarry operation in Lower Cove, Newfoundland.
Reporting into CEMEX's Global IT Team, the IT Field Manager serves as the on-site technology resource responsible for ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of all information technology systems supporting quarry operations, processing facilities, and port infrastructure. This role bridges local operational needs with global technology standards and initiatives, ensuring the site remains connected and secure in 24/7 operational environment.
The position may be based at our office in Corner Brook, NL or at our operation in Lower Cove, NL, depending on the preference of the successful candidate.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead all on-site IT operations supporting production, logistics, and administrative functions.
- Ensure high availability of site infrastructure, including servers, networks, wireless systems, end-user computing devices, telecommunications, and operational technology interfaces.
- Manage local support services and ensure timely resolution of incidents and service requests.
- Maintain business continuity and disaster recovery processes for critical site systems.
- Act as the key liaison between the Newfoundland operation and CEMEX's global IT organization.
- Work with global Security and Network team to maintain and support global security policies, standards, and controls.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to identify technology opportunities that improve safety, productivity, and efficiency.
- Support enterprise applications including ERP, maintenance management, productivity, and collaboration platforms.
- Provide recommendations on emerging technologies applicable to mining operations and industrial environments.
- Lead local technology projects for Lower Cove.
- Support global technology projects and initiatives.
- Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, system implementations, and site integrations.
- Manage project schedules, vendors, budgets, and stakeholder communications.
- Supervise site IT contractors, and technology service providers as required.
- Build strong relationships across local business stakeholders and global IT teams.
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
- Relevant professional certifications such as ITIL, CISSP, CCNA, CCNP, Microsoft or Project Management certifications are an asset.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive IT experience.
- Experience supporting industrial operations is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with enterprise network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory
- Experience working with Microsoft 365 and cloud-based collaboration platforms
- Experience working with Azure and/or hybrid cloud environments
- A strong understanding of cybersecurity tools and best practices
- Demonstrated knowledge of backup, recovery, and business continuity solutions
- Knowledge of telecommunications and remote-site connectivity solutions
- Strong knowledge of IT service management frameworks and tools

WORKING CONDITIONS
- This is an office based position with regular travel to Lower Cove to provide field support on site.
- The successful candidate must be available to provide emergency after-hours support and critical incident response as required.
