SCHEDULE: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, On Call, Rotation, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS: Bilingual essential

JOB SUMMARY:

The incumbent is responsible for the Quality Management Program, accreditation coordination, and safety for the provincial-level Public Health Laboratory. They assist the manager and the medical director of the Public Health Laboratory in delivering quality laboratory services in accordance with accreditation Canada requirements. The incumbent may be required to travel to other laboratories in the province and participate in local, provincial, and national meetings. They may also be responsible for supervisory duties and laboratory safety responsibilities, including LT03 and LT02 level work.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Diploma in medical laboratory technology from a recognized school;
  • Member in good standing of the New Brunswick Society of Medical Laboratory Technologists (NBSMLT);
  • Minimum of three years' related experience;
  • Experience in biosafety, quality management, or risk management, an asset; Knowledge of Microsoft 365 and of other software programs currently used within the Network;
  • Knowledge of and compliance with laboratory safety principles;
  • Ability to develop and maintain policies and procedures;
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills;
  • Initiative and sound judgment;
  • Positive leadership skills;
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills;
  • Planning and organizational skills;
  • Excellent teaching, interpersonal and communication skills;
  • Keen interest in continuous learning to maintain and improve service quality;
  • Valid driver's licence and availability to use one's own vehicle for work-related purposes;
  • Availability to travel within the zone's territory;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethical principles, the Network's management philosophy, and organizational values;
  • Compliance with the rules of confidentiality set by Vitalité Health Network.
