The Eastern Clean Energy team plays a pivotal role in getting us there.

We are currently looking for a Co-op Engineering Student to join our Eastern Clean Energy Initiative (ECEI) Project Controls team. This position offers hands-on experience working on major energy infrastructure projects including transmission, substations, and renewable energy initiatives. Reporting to the Project Controls lead, you will collaborate with engineering, construction, project controls, contractors, and document management professionals to help manage technical project information throughout the project lifecycle.


Key elements of this role include:

We'll treat you as one of our own and your key areas of responsibility will include:

  • Supporting the Information Management Lead in implementing information management methodologies, templates, and tools across the ECEI Intertie Project - Wasoqonatl Transmission Line.

  • Assisting in the delivery of business processes for effectively managing electronic and physical documents.

  • Ensuring that Information Management Procedures are followed by internal and external project participants.

  • Interfacing with internal and external submitters of documentation.

  • Generating accurate outgoing transmittals ensuring proper authorization, completion, and compliance with requirements (e.g. RFIs, RFPs, correspondence, quality reports, etc.)

  • Regularly updating document logs, registers, and project databases, ensuring that all records are current and accurate.

  • Ensuring assigned contractor and supplier documentation deliverables meet requirements and perform quality checks. Administrate the master document registers (MDR), supplier master document registers, and document distribution matrix.

  • Assisting in the system administration for Electronic Document Management System Adept, ACC Forma, and SharePoint.

Working as a valued part of our ECEI team, you will bring:

Education & Experience:

  • Post Secondary student pursuing a degree in Engineering (Industrial, Civil and/or Mechanical preferred). Ideally be in the 2nd to 4th year of your studies.

  • Consideration will also be given to post-secondary students pursuing Library Sciences.

  • Demonstrated and strong knowledge of records management & retention, Data Governance, and revision control.

  • Demonstrated & strong knowledge of engineering, procurement and construction documentation, including processes and procedures, such as vendor data and as-built processes.

Skills & Additional Requirements:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and electronic document management systems.

  • Experience using SharePoint Online (SPOL), and Adept is an asset.

  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in managing large volumes of documentation.

  • Can quickly learn new software applications.

  • Have the ability to work independently to set priorities and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
