Job Summary
The Project Technologist position is a multi-function position. This position is accountable for planning, scheduling, directing, & administrating capital projects within Eastern Health's Planning and Engineering division. The incumbent will work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to facilitate capital project implementation. This position provides in-house technical expertise (Architectural, Electrical & Mechanical) as well as Project Management expertise to the Infrastructure Support department as a whole. This position is responsible for the effective supervision & evaluation of contractors, manages/schedules and monitors changes on capital projects, estimating and coordinating projects involving renovations, new construction and upgrade of existing building systems, provides technical expertise in the development of specifications and tender documents, ensures compliance of the department's operations with applicable codes and standards.
Job Qualifications
Education
Graduation from an approved/recognized post-secondary education program with a Certified Technician (C.Tech), Applied Science Technologist (AScT), or Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T) certificate, with a bachelor's degree in technology or related discipline is required.
AETTNL certification or Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) would be considered an asset.
Experience
A minimum of five (5) years' experience in project management or construction management is required.
Experience within a health care environment is considered an asset.
