Reporting to the Team Leader of Accounting & Control - Card Services, Finance, the Accounting & Control Administrator is responsible for the execution of various daily card issuing and acquiring settlements from the card schemes and the card processor. Additional periodic financial tasks resulting from various settlement functions involving research and clearing of exception items will be required.

About the Team

The Finance team plays an important role in supporting Butterfield's businesses by providing high-quality planning, reporting, regulatory and accounting services. It's a fast-paced environment with a global remit. Working with colleagues across the Bank, the Finance team provides senior management with the expertise required to measure the Bank's performance and shape Butterfield's future plans.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Extracting information from numerous processor and card scheme reports, and completing the settlement templates from various issuing and acquiring settlements.
  • Ensuring accurate processing of settlement information in order to balance to card schemes advisements and processor loan totals.
  • Completing Mastercard and Visa issuing and acquiring settlements for transactions processed through the ATM networks.
  • Posting settlement transaction sheets from the settlements templates through the core banking system under a "maker/authorizer" posting function.
  • Completing settlements and posting entries, ensuring daily deadlines and various audit controls are met.
  • Supporting on a daily basis various functions involving research and clearance of settlement exception, reject, chargeback and unposted items held in suspense accounts.
  • Providing support by compiling settlement information for internal/external audit requests.
  • Performing other settlement and/or financial functions as required.

Your qualifications and skills include:

  • Associates degree or a minimum of three years' relevant experience.
  • Basic understanding of account reconciliations and general knowledge of the Card Business would be an asset.
  • Strong organization skills with the ability to multi-task and adapt to change.
  • Demonstrates a high degree of accuracy, problem solving, and research skills.
  • Ability to meet daily deadlines and demonstrates a strong team work approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of applications, including solid Excel skills.
