Your main responsibilities
As an Indoor Air Quality Technician , you will support Englobe's Hygiene, Health & Safety team by conducting field assessments, collecting samples, performing inspections, and contributing to the delivery of indoor environmental quality projects for a variety of clients.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Complete assigned field and project activities related to indoor air quality, occupational hygiene, and environmental health and safety projects;
- Follow schedules and work plans provided by project managers or supervisors to complete site-specific tasks efficiently and safely;
- Travel to client sites to conduct inspections, assessments, air monitoring, sample collection, and other field activities;
- Collect and document field data, prepare detailed field notes, and support the analysis and evaluation of results;
- Participate in assessments related to indoor air quality, asbestos and designated substances, asbestos abatement inspections and oversight, potable water, mould, radon, and other environmental or occupational hygiene concerns;
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain field equipment and sampling instruments in accordance with project requirements and health and safety procedures;
- Support the preparation of technical reports, including summaries of site observations, sampling results, findings, and recommendations;
- Participate in project meetings, internal team meetings, and health and safety inspections as required;
- Deliver high-quality work while maintaining professionalism, objectivity, and strong client service;
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, contractors, and other project stakeholders, including in situations that require tact and diplomacy;
- Assist with project administration tasks, including timesheets, organizing project files, equipment tracking, calibration records, and invoicing support;
- Develop and maintain positive client relationships while representing Englobe in a professional manner;
- Apply and promote Englobe's health and safety policies, procedures, and practices at all times .
What makes you unique
- Post-secondary education in environmental science, occupational health and safety, building science, engineering technology, or a related field (asset);
- Previous experience with indoor air quality assessments, occupational hygiene, asbestos, mould, radon, potable water, or environmental fieldwor (asset);
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear field notes and contribute to technical reporting;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook;
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage priorities within established timelines;
- Comfortable working in the field, travelling to client sites, and completing inspections or sampling activities in a variety of indoor environments;
- Ability to work regular business hours and occasional evenings, weekends, or outside of regular hours based on project requirements;
- Team-oriented, professional, and able to work collaboratively with project managers, technical staff, clients, and contractors;
- Valid driver's licence required;
- Access to a reliable personal vehicle is required for work-related travel;
- Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, provincial or federal security clearance is required;
- Demonstrated sensitivity and commitment to occupational health and safety.
