The IT Systems Technician is responsible for building, configuring, testing, and supporting the deployment of technology solutions across FMI's restaurant brands. Working as part of the Information Technology / Field Operations team, this hands-on role supports restaurant operations by preparing and deploying POS systems, networking equipment, kiosks, and other IT hardware while assisting with technology upgrades, remodels, and new restaurant openings. Due to the hands-on nature of the position, this role requires daily on-site attendance at our Support Center in Woodstock, NB and is not eligible for hybrid or remote work arrangements. Occasional travel to restaurant locations may also be required.
What You Will Do
Build, image, configure, and fully test POS systems, kiosks, menu boards, network equipment, and other IT hardware.
Prepare equipment for new restaurant openings, remodels, and technology upgrades.
Support day-to-day IT provisioning activities across FMI's restaurant brands.
Participate in POS builds and help manage build priorities and workload.
Coordinate equipment, timelines, and site readiness for technology deployments.
Complete build, site readiness, and installation verification checklists.
Work closely with IT Logistics to stage, ship, and track equipment.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance during installations.
Maintain accurate documentation, inventory records, asset tracking, and ConnectWise updates.
Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and restaurant stakeholders to support successful technology deployments.
What You Bring to the Role
Diploma or certificate in Information Technology, Computer Systems Technology, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
Experience building, imaging, configuring, and testing IT hardware.
Strong understanding of POS systems, networking, and general IT infrastructure.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong communication and documentation skills.
Experience with QSR or retail POS systems (PAR, Oracle Simphony) and payment hardware is considered an asset.
Familiarity with Fortinet/FortiGate, Stratacache menu boards, kiosks, or Envysion/CCTV is considered an asset.
Experience using ConnectWise or similar ticketing/PSA platforms is considered an asset.
Knowledge of FMI brands and restaurant technology environments is considered an asset.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to restaurant locations as required.
