Benefits:
We are looking for an AI Solutions Specialist to help Assumption Life turn AI ambitions into real business outcomes. This is a hands-on role for someone who is genuinely curious about AI, follows the space closely, and is excited to apply it in a company that serves Canadians.
You will spend a substantial portion of your time on research and development - exploring emerging tools, prototyping ideas, and running internal sessions to share what you learn with the broader team. The rest of your time goes into delivering solutions that work in production: AI agents, internal assistants, document automation, workflow improvements, and integrations with the systems our teams already use.
As our first dedicated AI hire, you will help shape how AI is delivered and supported at Assumption Life. You will not work alone - you will partner closely with IT Development, IT Operations, Enterprise Architecture, business teams, Information Security, Privacy, Legal and Compliance, and external vendors to make sure what we build is useful, secure, and sustainable.
Our technology environment is built on the Microsoft ecosystem - Microsoft 365, Azure, and Copilot - and this role will lean heavily on those tools while remaining open to approved third-party solutions where they bring stronger value.
- University degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Analytics, Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of professional experience working with technology in a delivery, integration, or business-improvement capacity, with a clear track record of turning ideas into working solutions.
- 1+ years of demonstrated experience building or integrating AI-enabled solutions, including agents, document automation, classification, retrieval-augmented generation, workflow automation, or API-based AI tools. Personal projects and self-directed work count.
- Strong hands-on experience with the Microsoft ecosystem, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power Automate, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Azure AI, and Microsoft Graph.
- Strong understanding of APIs, authentication, and secure integration patterns.
- Demonstrated curiosity about AI - you follow the space, experiment with new tools, and can speak to what you have explored and learned.
- Business acumen - the ability to identify where AI will create real value, and where it will not.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Some spoken French is an asset for collaboration with francophone colleagues.
Assets :
- Experience operating live solutions in production, including logging, monitoring, alerting, and incident response.
- Programming or scripting experience with tools such as Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, C#, SQL, or PowerShell.
- Experience in regulated environments, financial services, insurance, model monitoring, MLOps, or producing audit evidence.
- Familiarity with applicable Canadian regulatory guidelines for AI and model risk, responsible AI principles, or related compliance concepts.
- The chance to be part of a dynamic, high-performing team that adheres to the following ethical values: leadership, collaboration, trust and commitment;
- Training and development opportunities;
- A comprehensive benefits package including a competitive salary, bonus, pension and benefits;
- A dynamic location in downtown Moncton;
- A paid volunteer day;
- Time off to care for family members and pets.
