JOB SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Occupational Health and Safety Manager, the Disability Management Advisor is responsible for managing and coordinating all activities related to attendance and return-to-work. They also ensure the efficient handling of claims submitted to the insurance company related to long-term disabilities, as well as short- and long-term absences due to illness. They serve as a point of contact and instructor for the zone's managers. In particular, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating the implementation of the duty to accommodate, the management of absences, and returns to work.

These duties are carried out in collaboration with the human resources team, managers, and representatives from organizations that play a role with respect to the work capacities of Vitalité Health Network staff. Other related duties may be added for the smooth operation of Human Resources.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • University degree in administration or health care;
  • Combination of training and experience deemed equivalent;
  • Five years' experience in the health field, in human resources within a unionized setting or in disability management;
  • Knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite and other software applications used within the Network;
  • Knowledge of disability management, labour laws and the New Brunswick Human Rights Commission;
  • Keen organizational and communication skills, and demonstrated interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines;
  • Proven teamwork and interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent communication, networking, interpersonal and coaching skills;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Physical ability to perform assigned work;
  • Good work history (performance and attendance);
  • Adherence to professional ethics principles, the Network's management philosophy and organizational values;
  • Adherence to Vitalité Health Network's confidentiality rules.
