Advantage Personnel is currently seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to support a variety of commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality. This is an excellent opportunity for safety-conscious operators who enjoy working outdoors, operating specialized equipment, and contributing to successful project completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate heavy construction equipment and machinery on active job sites
  • Conduct daily pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly
  • Perform grading, excavation, material handling, lifting, hauling, and site preparation activities
  • Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, maps, and work instructions
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify potential mechanical issues
  • Complete routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs
  • Assist with loading, positioning, and securing materials on-site
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters, and site personnel
  • Complete daily equipment logs, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction, industrial, or civil environment
  • Strong understanding of equipment operation, safety procedures, and job-site protocols
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment
  • Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment inspections and minor maintenance
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Valid Canadian Driver's License required
  • Telehandler, Counterbalance Forklift, and/or Skid Steer certification considered a strong asset
  • Equivalent hands-on equipment operating experience will also be considered
