Advantage Personnel is currently seeking experienced Heavy Equipment Operators to support a variety of commercial, industrial, and civil construction projects throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality. This is an excellent opportunity for safety-conscious operators who enjoy working outdoors, operating specialized equipment, and contributing to successful project completion.

Responsibilities:
- Safely operate heavy construction equipment and machinery on active job sites
- Conduct daily pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment is functioning properly
- Perform grading, excavation, material handling, lifting, hauling, and site preparation activities
- Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, maps, and work instructions
- Monitor equipment performance and identify potential mechanical issues
- Complete routine equipment maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs
- Assist with loading, positioning, and securing materials on-site
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters, and site personnel
- Complete daily equipment logs, inspection reports, and maintenance documentation
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a construction, industrial, or civil environment
- Strong understanding of equipment operation, safety procedures, and job-site protocols
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment inspections and minor maintenance
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid Canadian Driver's License required
- Telehandler, Counterbalance Forklift, and/or Skid Steer certification considered a strong asset
- Equivalent hands-on equipment operating experience will also be considered
