Job Overview:
Advantage Personnel is currently seeking highly experienced Lead Construction Labourers / Equipment Operators to support major construction projects throughout the Halifax Regional Municipality. This role is designed for skilled construction professionals who have extensive field experience, strong leadership abilities, and the expertise to safely operate specialized equipment while overseeing daily site activities.

Responsibilities:
- Operate advanced construction equipment, including zoom booms, skid steers, and other heavy machinery
- Safely use a variety of specialized hand and power tools
- Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
- Lead and coordinate small crews, assigning tasks and supporting productivity goals
- Assist with project planning, site coordination, and daily workflow management
- Conduct safety meetings and reinforce safe work practices on site
- Monitor job-site conditions and ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company standards
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to project specifications
- Identify and report safety hazards, incidents, and operational concerns
- Mentor and train junior labourers and equipment operators
- Support site supervisors in achieving project timelines and operational objectives
Requirements:
- Extensive construction experience with a proven track record of leadership and advanced skill development
- Minimum 5+ years of construction experience or relevant technical trade training
- Experience operating zoom booms, skid steers, and other heavy equipment
- Ability to work independently and lead teams in a fast-paced construction environment
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, equipment, and job-site operations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of workplace safety regulations and best practices
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills
