What you will do:
Reporting to the 'Directrice de l'éducation inclusive au primaire', the successful candidate will contribute to the continuous improvement of learning in elementary schools by ensuring that curricula are kept up to date and by supporting their implementation in schools. The position aims to support educational teams in adopting teaching practices that are consistent, up-to-date, and aligned with the education plan as well as with the needs of students and the education system.

The key responsibilities of the position are as follow:

  • Update study programs in line with ministerial guidelines and community needs;
  • Work on the development and implementation of 'FPS' curriculum programs from kindergarten through 12th grade;
  • Be responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of 'FPS' -related training;
  • Contribute to a smooth transition between the K-2 and 3-5 cycles, particularly with regard to the updating and implementation of elementary school studies;
  • Support teaching staff and school teams in implementing updated programs and pedagogical practices;
  • Collaborate on the development, updating, and evaluation of resources, training, and pedagogical tools for elementary schools;
  • Collaborate with various partners involved in the 'FPS' program to develop and deliver professional development, provide training, and develop any other resources necessary for 'FPS' learning.
  • Collaborate with various ministry sectors, school districts, and partners to ensure consistency in practices and interventions;
  • Participate in working committees, consultations, and collaborative efforts with stakeholders.

Your attitude, skills and interests are just as important as your area of study. We are looking for diverse backgrounds that bring a combination of the following:

Need to have:

  • A master's degree in education and a minimum of six (6) years' teaching experience in an inclusive kindergarten to grade 5 public education system.
  • Solid expertise in elementary education;
  • A good understanding of the curriculum and the challenges associated with its implementation;
  • In-depth knowledge of pedagogical approaches in 'FPS';
  • The ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders in the school community;
  • The ability to facilitate change and support teams in their professional development;
  • The ability to mentor and train teaching staff;
  • The ability to analyze data and adapt strategies to meet the needs of students and/or teachers;
  • Skills in collaboration and the development of pedagogical resources.

An equivalent combination of education, training and experience in a field such as adult education/coaching may be considered.

Written and spoken competence in French is required. Please state your language capability.

Salary:
Pay Band 7: $94,146 to $113,906 annually

Work environment:

  • Office location: 250 King Street, Fredericton
  • A remote work agreement may be considered in New Brunswick
  • Teamwork is promoted
  • Some travel throughout the province will be required
  • Standard hours of work: Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
