Medavie is where employees can be their best selves, feel they belong, and achieve their full potential. Be part of it by applying for a position with us today.

Why make the move to Medavie Blue Cross?

  • Sell a bigger story than insurance. Medavie is a health solutions partner that integrates benefits management (health, dental, travel, life, disability) with healthcare delivery (EMS and primary care) under one organization-so your team can take an end?to?end health outcomes narrative to market, not just a traditional benefits offering.
  • Mission over dividends. We're a not?for?profit-we reinvest in people, product, and communities rather than paying shareholders. That purpose resonates strongly across Atlantic Canada, where clients and advisors value long?term relationships and community impact. Through the Medavie Foundation, we invest in healthy living, youth mental health, and PTSD-making a visible difference in the communities you serve.
  • A strong regional footprint with room to grow. Medavie Blue Cross is one of the most established and trusted brands in Atlantic Canada, and a recognized employer of choice across the country, with deep roots and long-standing relationships across both the private and public sectors. You'll build on a strong foundation while unlocking new growth opportunities-evolving how group benefits solutions are positioned and delivered in the market.
  • Innovation that opens doors. Our focus on practical, outcome?driven health solutions gives you a broader, more compelling story to take to market-especially in conversations where traditional benefit models fall short.
  • Public?sector leadership. As a long?standing administrator of public health programs across Atlantic Canada, Medavie brings unmatched credibility and insight-helping you navigate complex stakeholder environments and win meaningful, long-term partnerships.

The impact you'll lead

As Regional Vice President, Business Development, you will set and execute the regional growth strategy for Atlantic Canada-leading a high?performing sales organization, strengthening advisor relationships, and shaping the next phase of growth across a diverse and relationship?driven market.

You'll coach for excellence, champion client?centricity, and bring integrated health solutions to market in ways that differentiate us from "insurance?only" competitors.

What you'll do

  • Own the regional growth plan. Develop and execute the annual business plan aligned to revenue, profitability, and client impact goals; continuously monitor results and adapt strategies to reflect regional dynamics and opportunities.
  • Lead and scale a high?performing sales team. Coach and empower Corporate Account Executives, Brokerage Sales, and Group Sales leadership to deliver strong results while maintaining a high-touch, relationship-focused approach with clients and advisors.
  • Drive market differentiation. Position Medavie's integrated benefits and healthcare delivery model in a way that resonates locally; translate market insights into practical strategies that win business.
  • Strengthen advisor & consultant partnerships. Build trusted, long-standing relationships across the advisor community; identify opportunities to deepen engagement and drive new business across all group segments.
  • Elevate sales operations. Oversee prospecting strategy, RFP execution, and pipeline effectiveness; leverage Salesforce (or equivalent CRM) to maintain visibility, discipline, and strong forecasting in a region where relationship management is key.
  • Partner cross?functionally. Work closely with Product, Marketing, Client Services, and Underwriting teams to align offerings with regional needs and ensure seamless delivery.
  • Be the voice of the market. Maintain a strong understanding of competitive, legislative, and demographic trends across Atlantic Canada; inform go?to?market decisions and growth strategies.

What you bring

  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership in group benefits/ insurance or financial services, with a track record of achieving growth targets.
  • Strong understanding of the Atlantic Canadian market, with established relationships across advisors, consultants, and/or key clients considered a significant asset.
  • Expertise in benefits products, distribution channels, and complex sales cycles.
  • Proven leadership capability-coaching teams to perform while fostering accountability and engagement.
  • Strong communicator with the ability to influence at the executive level.
  • Collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally.
  • CRM proficiency (Salesforce preferred) with disciplined pipeline management.
  • University degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset, particularly in supporting regional and national collaboration.

What's in it for you

  • A differentiated sales platform. Sell a unique combination of benefits and healthcare delivery backed by deep regional credibility-bringing a more complete solution to market than traditional models.
  • Purpose?driven culture. Join a Top 100 Employer recognized for employee well?being and development, with a strong people-first culture.
  • Community connection. Play a visible role in improving health outcomes in Atlantic communities through the Medavie Foundation.
  • Real influence. Lead growth in a region where relationships matter and leadership visibility is high-you'll have the opportunity to shape strategy and impact outcomes directly.
  • Competitive total rewards. A comprehensive package aligned with leadership impact and performance.
