Job Title: Shipper/Receiver
Location: Amherst, NS
Shifts: Monday to Friday 8am-5pm (overnight shifts may be required)
Pay Rate: $19.89/hr
Job Overview:
We are seeking dedicated and reliable production workers in Amherst. Work in a fast-paced shipping and receiving environment, handling the loading, unloading, sorting, and movement of goods to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Perform duties outdoors and indoors in all weather conditions while maintaining safety, efficiency, and productivity standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and organize incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Verify shipment accuracy by checking quantities, lot numbers, and shipping documentation.
- Maintain accurate shipping and receiving records to ensure full product traceability.
- Load, unload, and move products safely within the warehouse or production area.
- Ensure products, pallets, and trays are free from damage, contamination, or foreign materials.
- Conduct routine quality inspections and report discrepancies or concerns to supervisors.
- Operate and monitor equipment such as metal detectors and pallet handling tools to ensure proper functionality.
- Assist with inventory control, stock organization, and replenishment of supplies.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment following company safety and food safety standards.
- Support shipping preparation by labeling, wrapping, and staging products for transport.
Candidate Qualifications:
- Previous shipping/receiving or warehouse experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic mathematical and documentation skills.
- Safety boots required.
- Must pass a Clean Criminal Background Check.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Work Environment:
- Enclosed warehouse and production facility.
- Environment may be hot due to machinery and production operations.
