Rodney Enterprises Limited is seeking an experienced Commercial Millwork Installer to join our team. This position is responsible for installing custom commercial millwork on job sites, including cabinets, countertops, wall panels, reception desks, vanities, shelving, trims, and other architectural woodwork components.
The ideal candidate has strong installation experience, takes pride in quality workmanship, and can work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Install commercial millwork, casework, countertops, panels, trims, and related components
- Read and interpret shop drawings, plans, and site measurements
- Complete layouts, field measurements, scribing, cutting, fitting, and adjustments on site
- Ensure installations are level, plumb, secure, and completed to a high-quality standard
- Coordinate with site supervisors, project managers, and other trades
- Identify site issues or deficiencies and communicate them clearly
- Complete deficiencies, touch-ups, and adjustments as required
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and installation equipment
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Represent the company professionally on job sites
- Follow company safety policies and site-specific safety requirements
Qualifications
- Previous experience installing commercial millwork or architectural casework
- Ability to read and understand shop drawings and construction plans
- Strong knowledge of cabinet installation, countertop installation, scribing, leveling, fastening, and finishing details
- Comfortable working on active commercial construction sites
- Skilled with hand tools, power tools, lasers, levels, saws, routers, drills, and other installation equipment
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve on site
- Reliable, organized, and able to meet project deadlines
- Valid driver's license required
- Ability to lift, carry, and move millwork materials as needed
- Fall protection, WHMIS, first aid, or other safety certifications are considered an asset
Experience
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of commercial millwork installation experience preferred
- Experience with institutional, office, retail, healthcare, or education projects considered an asset
Working Conditions
- Work is performed primarily on commercial construction sites
- Some travel within Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada may be required
- Occasional overtime or schedule adjustments may be required to meet project deadlines
- Must be able to perform physical work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, standing, and working with tools for extended periods
