In this role, you will:

  • Carry out mapping activities based on documented standards and procedures.
  • Gather data from various sources such as databases, surveys, and internal systems to ensure comprehensive and accurate data sets relevant to geospatial analysis, conduct data cleaning and validation.
  • Generate static and web-based maps and visualizations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Perform data analysis and apply analytical tools, statistical techniques, skills and processes to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and data governance frameworks.
  • Manage sensitive information in accordance with confidentiality and privacy standards, ensuring that data is handled securely at all stages.
  • Act as a data ambassador, promoting a data-driven culture across the organization.
  • Collaborate and build relationships with clients/stakeholders to collect and document data requirements.

What are we looking for:

  • Qualifications include a minimum of 2+ years experience and a 3-year college diploma or university degree in Geography, Geomatics, GIS, computer science or related field and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with using geospatial tools (ArcGIS and/or QGIS).
  • Experience with Excel for processing, cleaning and manipulating large datasets
  • Ability to assess accuracy and reliability of data and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to identify patterns and trends in data.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Familiarity with data management concepts, including data quality, data cleansing, standardization, metadata management, privacy, and security governance.
  • Ability to identify, investigate and analyze problems, identify root causes and risks, and apply technical, functional and organizational knowledge to develop solutions.
  • Ability to understand and ensure work is completed in compliance with applicable data and privacy policy and legislation.
  • Fluency in English is required, French is an asset
