Bilingual Labour Relations Officer
(1-Year Temporary Full-Time Position)
The New Brunswick Teachers' Federation (NBTF), representing more than 10,000 public school teachers across the province, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join its team as a Bilingual Labour Relations Officer.
Terms of Employment
Location: Fredericton, New Brunswick
Term: August 31, 2026, to June 30, 2027
Salary: Based on experience ($133,341 - $154,423)
Benefits: In accordance with NBTF policies

Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to members on the interpretation and application of the Collective Agreement;
- Advise and support members throughout grievance processes involving alleged violations;
- Represent members in a variety of matters, including investigations and disciplinary proceedings;
- Offer strategic advice on policies related to working conditions;
- Design and deliver professional development sessions;
- Participate in meetings of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors;
- Contribute to NBTF publications, including the newsletters, as required;
- Carry out additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Required Qualification and Competency
- Bachelor's degree in education, business, industrial relations, law, or a related field;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently;
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment;
- Flexibility to travel regularly throughout New Brunswick on short notice;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Demonstrated capacity to analyze and resolve complex issues;
- Understanding of collective agreements, provincial policies, the Education Act, and related regulations;
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French), with strong oral and written proficiency in both languages;
- Experience or knowledge in labour relations is considered an asset.
