About the Role
Reporting to the Project Management Office & Resource Manager, the Project Planner/Scheduler plays a key role in supporting the Project Management Office (PMO) and the Project Management team. The Project Scheduler provides specific subject matter expertise in: forecasting project resource requirements; resource tracking and analysis; portfolio monitoring and status reporting; and in the development of project plans and schedules.
Specific Responsibilities:
Work with the PMO, functional managers and project managers in forecasting project resource demand and associated resource capacity
Prepare and maintain a portfolio master schedule
Ensure alignment between project schedules and required resources
Review and analyze project change requests for potential project baseline impacts
Accurately track, monitor and report on portfolio/project status
Ensure adherence to portfolio/project governance
Effectively communicate and document PMO and project information in line with agreed processes and procedures
Facilitate group meetings such as workshops
Work with the PMO, project sponsors/business owners, subject matter experts and project managers in the development of project plans and associated project schedules
About You
Skills/Abilities
Proven ability in project scheduling and resource coordination
Proven ability in project status reporting and documentation
Experience with other project management software/tools considered an asset
Superior communication (written and verbal), interpersonal and networking skills
Self-motivated and possess excellent time management and organizational skills
Demonstrate sound judgement and an ability to build consensus among groups with differing priorities
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to balance multiple tasks
Experience and Education
Degree or Diploma in Business or Information Technology or related field
Minimum of three years direct experience in a related project role with demonstrated experience in documentation creation, project planning, and scheduling
Ability to action project management methodologies, software and tools
Assets
Project management training or certification considered an asset
Knowledge of Health Care Sector would be an asset
