We are currently looking for a Maintenance and Operations Planner. Reporting to the Assistant Plant Manager, you will be responsible for supporting weekly workflow and ongoing outage planning, using established work management systems.
Key elements of this role include:
- Responsible for supporting weekly workflow and outage planning. This will include scoping work, developing technical work packages, coordinating operational items, and contractor planning.
- You will maintain aspects of the preventative maintenance system which includes updating, scheduling, issuing work orders and check sheets, and tracking and reporting on completion.
- You will assist in creating and maintaining annual shutdown schedules using MS Project and assist in incorporating shutdown schedules into the overall Plant schedule of outages. This will include issuing work packages to crews, generating update reports.
- You will be responsible for procuring material based on scoped work. This will include entering purchase requisitions for parts and maintaining work order status updates, as well as locating/picking inventory parts from the warehouse
- You will attend and host planning meetings.
- You will provide support for programs that are required to plan and execute operational and capital project work.
- You will manage warehouse inventory, ensuring accurate inventory records are maintained. Improvements to our on-site warehouse are encouraged – e.g. optimizing/additional storage and office space.
- Responsible for duties that may be delegated from the Maintenance or Operations Manager as required.
You will be responsible for your personal safety and that of co-workers, by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will be accountable for environmental performance as it relates to the environmental management system processes and initiatives.

- The successful candidate will preferably hold a recognized trade certification, Power Engineer certification, Mechanical Engineering Technologist designation, or possess an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- You must have strong mechanical expertise in troubleshooting and problem solving.
- Experience with a computerized maintenance management system is essential.
- You must be experienced in the use of the MS Office suite.
- Experience considered an asset includes background in skilled maintenance or operations roles involving the maintenance of heavy industrial equipment within a modern power generation facility or similar industrial environment, along with demonstrated experience in maintenance planning and scheduling. Additional assets include prior planning or supervisory experience, project management experience managing multiple priorities in a fast?paced, deadline?driven environment, and strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- You have demonstrated experience building partnerships across and between functional groups.
- You are an energetic self-starter who actively participates as a team player. You have good planning and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work, complete assigned tasks in a timely manner and work independently. You have a demonstrated ability to problem solve.
- You have exceptional communication/facilitation skills and a strong customer focus.
- You have a willingness to learn and adapt to a challenging environment.
