SCHEDULE: Day, 8 and 12-hour shifts. Work schedule may be changed to meet operational needs.

JOB SUMMARY:
The incumbent works under the supervision of the Clinical Nursing Services Manager and acts as the primary clinical resource for wound and ostomy care in the area. They contribute to the prevention, assessment, and management of wounds and ostomies by applying evidence-based nursing knowledge. They perform their duties with a high level of clinical autonomy, while benefiting from remote professional support from the regional team of nurse specialized in wound, ostomy, and continence (NSWOC) care. They ensure continuity of specialized wound and ostomy care services and play a key role in providing clinical support, education, and guidance to interdisciplinary teams, patients, and their families.
REQUIREMENTS:
Registered with the College of Nursing of New Brunswick;
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing;
- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate;
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant wound management experience acquired within the last five (5) years;
- Completion of the self-study Wound Care Collaborator course offered online by the Institute for Wound, Ostomy and Continence Education and accredited by the Canadian Nurses Association (CNA), or completion within the established timeframe;
- Completion of the self-study Ostomy Management Course offered by the Institute for Wound, Ostomy and Continence Education or completion within the established timeframe;
- Completion of the full CNA-accredited Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy, Continence Program offered by the Institute for Wound, Ostomy and Continence Education is an asset;
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and other software commonly used within the Network;
- Demonstrated interest in continuous learning and maintaining current knowledge;
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and maintain positive interpersonal relationships;
- Proven ability to function in a changing work environment;
- Proven teaching and communication skills;
- Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize activities while managing time effectively;
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to use clinical reasoning rigorously and independently;
- Leadership and sound decision-making skills;
